Cellply Named in Cohort 2 of EIC Scaling Club for EU Deep Tech Scale-ups

Bologna, Italy, November 06, 2024 – Cellply S.r.L, a leader in innovative cellular analysis solutions, formally announces its selection as a member of the EIC Scaling Club, an ecosystem uniting the most promising European deep-tech scale-ups. Cellply joins 120 EU deep tech focused companies, curated by the EIC, with the potential to build world-class businesses solving major global challenges.

“We are thrilled that Cellply has be selected as one of the 12 bio deep tech companies to join the New Biotech Platforms group within the EIC Scaling Club and to be part of this vibrant community dedicated to supporting the success of EU deep tech. This is recognition of our game-changing innovation and commercial success to date,” said Emiliano Spagnolo, Chief Executive Officer at Cellply.

EIC Scaling Club is an EIC-funded initiative established to connect the region’s best and most-promising deep-tech scale-ups with an ecosystem focused on spurring the growth of these innovation-driven companies.

Now formally part of the New Biotech Platforms group, leadership from Cellply attended the Scale 100 Forum in Athens, Greece, October 21-22, 2024 where representatives from both cohort 1 and cohort 2 met investors, corporate partners, mentors and each other.

Dr Massimo Bocchi, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Cellply, commented: “Attending the Scale 100 forum allowed us to meet like-minded leaders and have the rare the opportunity to share our experiences and scale-up challenges. Sourcing funding and navigating the complexity of establishing relationships with large corporates within our sector were common discussion themes.”

The Scale 100 Forum was the Scaling Club’s second organized event, where stakeholders, including Europe’s most active VCs and corporates, top EIC representatives, visionary mentors and industry experts, EU policymakers, and the selected companies, had the chance to meet and network.

Teresa Cunha, Lead at EIC Scaling Club added: “Our EIC Scaling Club proudly supports a diverse group of 120 companies, actively operating across ten prominent deep tech markets, which have collectively raised over €3.4 billion to date. With the backing of more than 400 dedicated club members, these companies are well-positioned to address key global challenges within their respective industries, and I have no doubt they will continue to grow and realise their full potential.”
